Why Palmer Customs
Palmer Customs are handcrafted by a premier team of Anchor Boatworks in Virginia Beach, VA. Anchor Boatworks is a Marine Service Center that has successfully built a reputation as a custom fabricator and restoration center for recreational customers as well as the United States Navy vessels (Anchor Innovation).
A few years ago, after multiple major restorations for the U.S. Navy and recreational customers; Anchor Innovation began crafting cold-molded center consoles, which later became Palmer Customs.
Palmer Customs are equipped with industry-leading technologies like Lumitec Lighting, Garmin electronics, Seakeeper 2, Gemlux equipment, Suzuki Outboards, Optimus steering by Seastar, and more. Thanks to our advanced dealer network through Anchor Boatworks.
Our cold-molded okoume plank hulls are crafted using an exceptional blend of composites and Kevlar for a strong but light build. The hull can take the punishment of rougher seas as well as provide for an enjoyable sunset cruise.
Luxury Custom Features
Our builds are completely custom and constructed in-house in Virginia Beach, VA.

Palmer Customs are traditional cold-molded sportfishing or cruising boats. We work closely with each customer to build their perfect boat based on performance and design wants and needs. Anchor is passionate about our work - where old-school craftsmanship is enhanced by modern day processes and procedures. Construction is a balance of a cold-molded wood hull built with composite materials for a light, but very strong boat. Our boats are built to take the punishment of rougher seas without sacrificing the quality construction or performance excellence.
Palmer Customs designs range from 25 feet to 45 feet accommodating either outboard or inboard diesel motor configurations. Our graceful lines are made with the strength of okoume wood, fiberglass and Kevlar fabrics, and the industry’s best epoxy resins.
We start with the customer's needs and wants to design a boat that meets performance and aesthetic requirements. Many years and generations of experience come together to make sure every detail of every aspect is built to the highest level of quality. Ideas start on paper and then head to the computers, where we look at everything from weight studies to ensure the best ride, to structural integrity for hull strength and longevity. As ideas and thoughts become images and design drawings, the build process begins, with innovation and quality designed and built into every hull.
